Some of the prisoners of war being held by Fidel Castro in Cuba, as a result of the anti-Castro invasion of the island which failed a year ago last April, are Jews who are the sons of parents who had fled from Hitler, James B. Donovan, the New York attorney trying to free the more than 1,100 prisoners, declared here last night.

These Jewish boys, he said, “are perhaps the saddest among the prisoners,” because their parents had felt “the heel of a dictator twice in one generation.” In most cases, he said, the parents, who had fled from Hitler Germany, had gone to Cuba to await immigration into the United States, but had prospered there and stayed on.
