Government regulations covering the custody of children orphaned or lost during the war as a result of Nazi racial measures were sharply protested last night at a mass meeting here attended by 2,000 persons.
Speakers told the meeting that the regulations prevented the recovery of Jewish children placed in institutions and with private families during the Nazi occupation to protect them from the Nazis. The Jewish community wants these children placed in Jewish homes and raised in the Jewish faith.
The meeting followed intercession recently with the Minister of Justice seeking revision of the regulations promulgated by the Dutch War Orphans Commission.
