The Jewish population in the German Republic totals 564,379, according to final returns of the national census which has just been published. Of this number 289,929 are women.
In Prussia the Jewish population numbers 403,969. The Jewish population of the city of Berlin numbers 172,672.
The opinion is expressed in Jewish circles that these figures underestimate the actual Jewish population in the country.
