Problems of assisting Jewish repatriates from the Soviet Union and Jewish emigrants to Israel were discussed at Warsaw at a meeting of the Federation of Jewish Religious Congregations in Poland, the Warsaw Radio reported today.
It was reported at the conference that in Warsaw alone there are 1, 500 Jewish repatriates, some of them housed in a rest home of the Social and Cultural Association of Polish Jews at Srodborow, near Warsaw. Most of them, however, are staying at Red Cross hostels, at huts at Wlochy, and on the premises of the Jewish religious congregation in Warsaw.
A special kitchen for the repatriates will be opened at the Wlochy huts. The government has been approached on assistance to the repatriates. The question of Passover observance and matzoth supplies was discussed by Dr. Aleksander Lieber at the Federation meeting.
