The Jewish Agency executive today began working on an agenda for its forthcoming plenary session which opens here March 6. The members of the executive also discussed the budget of the Agency in the light of the recent financial reforms instituted by the Israel Government, which will permit the Agency to convert its foreign currency at the rate of $1.40 per pound.

Healthier immigrants have recently come from Rumania to Israel than previously and they have generally been younger than those who came before them, Itzhak Raphael, the Agency’s immigration chief, reported at the meeting. He also discussed the situation which has arisen recently where some Jewish immigrants have been unable to leave Rumania because they have not had the rail fare from their homes to the port of Constanza.
