Scores of Endeks (Polish Nazis) were under arrest today following anti-Socialist and anti-Jewish riots yesterday which claimed the life of one Jew and brought wounds to at least thirty others.
Jacob Glitzenstein, 44, was set upon and killed by Endeks as he passed a memorial celebration in Lodz by the Polish Socialist Party marking the thirtieth anniversary of the abortive 1906 revolt. Windows of many Jewish shops were smashed during the rioting that followed.
Fifteen Jewish passersby were injured, one of them seriously, in similar disorders in Warsaw. One Christian worker was wounded. Police arrested fourteen Endeks, most of them students.
Scattered anti-Jewish outbreaks were reported from Kattowice and Lwow.
In Lwow stones were thrown at a synagogue. Several Sabbath-worshippers were slightly injured. No casualties were reported following a bomb explosion in the Kattowice shop of Chana Edeleit. The shop windows were completely smashed.
