Israel’s foreign minister called for a new diplomatic initiative to seek peace with the Palestinians. Tzipi Livni, who was last week quoted as rejecting an Israeli-Palestinian peace proposal drafted by Spain and France, said Sunday that it was up to Jerusalem to break the deadlock.
