Israel’s exports to Nigerian and and Ghana are expected to total five million pounds (approximately $2,750,000) each this year, Finance Minister Levi Eshkol declared today.
Speaking at the Journalists Club here after returning from a tour of West Africa, Mr. Eshkol told of his impressions of the newly emerging African states. He dispelled the impression that North Nigeria’s Moslems were anti-Israel. He said that at a recent Pan-African conference held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the Nigerian delegation “stood firm” against Egyptian pressure to commit the conference to an anti-Israel resolution.
