Israeli policemen will be issued new dark blue uniforms–to match field conditions–to improve their public image as a result of criticism over the way they allegedly roughed up anti-Kissinger demonstrators during the shuttle talks last month, But that will be their only concession to public opinion. The cops will not smile more often or say “pardon me” when they raise their clubs to disperse rioters, a police source said.
