“Israel has done much with American capital,” Rabbi Isar Jehuda Unterman, Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv, declared at a farewell banquet tendered him last night by the Mizrachi Organization of America at the Commodore Hotel, following the completion of his ten-week tour in this country for the State of Israel Independence Bond issue.

To establish our economy on firm foundations, we need American dollars. American dollars will help to build up the Negev, Israel’s southern desert territory, which alone, when properly cultivated, will be able to feed the entire population of Israel.”
