Israel is planning to seek U.S. intervention to prevent the Palestinian Authority from raising its representative offices abroad to embassy status, the Israeli daily Ha’aretz reported Monday. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s spokesman, David Bar-Illan, told the paper that such a move would violate the Oslo accords. His comments came after Palestinian Authority official Nabil Sha’ath announced the move over the weekend.
