Israel Minister Plenipotentiary Reuven Shiloah today met with John D. Jernegan, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, to discuss matters arising from the tense Israel-Jordan frontier situation.
“We discussed the problem of raising in the United Nations Security Council by the Big Three Western Powers of the Israel-Jordan frontier situation following the Scorpion Pass incident and Jordan’s refusal to obey Article XII of the Israel-Jordan armistice which requires direct talks between the two parties involved, ” Mr. Shiloah said later.
