Maurice Fischer, Israel Ambassador to Turkey, and formerly his country’s Ambassador here, today was promoted to the rank of Officer of the Legion of Honor of France. He had been previously a member of the Legion of Honor. His promotion is for “military services rendered the Republic.” During World War II, Mr. Fischer was an officer in the French army. He is visiting here this week.
