Dr. Samuel Malamud, Israel’s Honorary Consul in Brazil, today announced that a total of 447 Israeli visas have been issued by him during the last year. Among the recipients were a considerable number of chalutzim who completed their training in this country and left for Israel to join collective settlements in the Negev, he said.
David Shealtiel, Israel’s first Minister to Brazil, is due to arrive here on March 28, it was reported by the consulate. He will assume his duties immediately upon his arrival. Mr. Shealtiel is one of Israel’s heroes who distinguished himself in the War of Liberation.
