Eliahu Elath, Israel’s Ambassador to the Court of St. James, and Mrs. Elath, returned to London last night from an overnight visit to Queen Elizabeth II at Windsor Castle. At the Castle, they had been the Queen’s guests at dinner, where they were joined by members of the Queen’s entourage and other friends of the Queen.
It was understood that in her conversations with Ambassador and Mrs. Elath, Her Majesty showed keen interest in Israel. Diplomats are rarely invited as guests to Windsor Castle, such invitations going usually to senior officials of the British Government or of members of Commonwealth nations and their formal representatives.
