Irving Mitchel Felt, active in numerous Jewish voluntary health and welfare institutions, was elected tonight president of the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York at a meeting of the Federation’s Board of Trustees. He succeeds Lawrence A. Wien, who was elected an associate chairman of the Board.

As president of the Federation, largest voluntary philanthropic organization in the world, he assumes leadership of a network of 116 medical and social welfare agencies in the metropolitan area, with annual budgetary expenditures exceeding $100, 000, 000. These agencies serve almost 1, 000, 000 New Yorkers of all races and faiths each year.
