The first international conference to plan economic aid for Israel will open here tomorrow at the Mayflower Hotel and will meet for three days. Major attention at the conference will be focussed on the launching on an international scale of a new $350, 000,000 Israel Bond Issue.
Representatives from more than 35 national Jewish religious, communal and Israel organizations as well as delegates from more than 40 states will participate in the conference. In addition, leaders of the Jewish communities in Canada and Latin American countries will also take part in its deliberations.
The principal speakers on America’s role in the future development of Israel will be Senator Homer Ferguson, of Michigan, chairman of the Republican Policy Committee, and Senator Herbert H. Lehman of New York. The Government of Israel will be represented at the conference by Dr. Dov Joseph, Minister of Development of the State of Israel, and Abba Eban, Israel Ambassador to the United States.
