The Jewish Agency does not want the abolition of the United Jewish Appeal, the Joint Distribution Committee or other world fund-raising institutions, nor does the Agency wish to control them or to pass on their allocations.

This was indicated here today in connection with the statement made several days ago at a press conference by Eliahu Dobkin, member of the Agency’s executive. It was emphasized that the statement by Mr. Dobkin regarding “normalization” of fund-raising concerns only Israeli institutions.

Due to a typographical error the impression was created that he advocated the idea that only the United Israel Appeal and the Israel bond drive should be unrestricted in their campaigns, whereas what he actually said was that the United Jewish Appeal and the bond drive should be free from any restrictions, it was established here today.
