Hungarian Jews owe their survival to the efforts of Jews abroad, Rabbi I. Herskovits declawed at the a### meeting of the Hungarian section of the World Jewish Congress. He said that from now on Hungarian Jews must undertake their own relief and rehabilitation program.

Other speakers expressed discontent with the progress made toward restitution of Jewish property. One of the leaders of the Congress, Dr. Ignac Friedmann, described the campaign against anti-Semitism and stated that some sections of the Hungarian peace treaty had not been carried out. The conference worked out a program for further development of the internal cultural and political activities of the Jewish community.
