Preparations were started today by an American construction company for the excavation of drainage canals in the eastern part of the Huleh swamp under an arrangement with the Jewish National Fund.
Officials of the JNF revealed that the second phase of the Huleh drainage project would be completed by the end of this year. By that time the eastern, western and northern canals would carry off excess water into the new Jordan River channel just south of Lake Huleh.
