Homer Loomis Jr., co-leader of the anti-Semitic, anti-Negro Columbians, was today sentenced to two years imprisonment in a public labor camp and six months in jail, following his conviction last night on charges of usurping police powers. Loomis already faces a one-year work camp term for inciting to riot.
After sentence had been pronounced, Loomis shouted: “Tell Sheldon he hasn’t heard the last of the Columbians.” The reference was to Prof. James Sheldon, executive director of the Non-Sectarian Anti-Nazi League, which was instrumental in exposing the Columbians.
