Holocaust survivors gathered Sunday at a former concentration camp in Croatia to commemorate an escape attempt from the camp. In 1945, 600 inmates broke out of their barracks in the Jasenovac camp. Only 70 escaped, and the others were shot to death. During their commemoration, the survivors called for a guilty sentence to be imposed on the camp’s commander, Dinko Sakic, who was extradited to Croatia last June and is being tried for crimes against humanity.
