Hemda Ben-Yehuda, widow of the late Eliezer Ben-Yehuda, the Hebrew lexicographer, died here, aged 78. Born in Lithuania, she studied in Moscow and emigrated to Palestine in 1892. She was one of the first Hebrew authoresses in Palestine and for over 30 years assisted her husband in his monumental The saurus of Ancient and Modern Hebrew. She is the author of a volume of short stories and of a biography of her son, Ittamar Ben Avi, noted Jerusalem editor.
