The completion of the Hebrew Edition of Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary by the Dvir Publishers was celebrated at the home of Shmarya Levin today. The celebration was attended by a number of authors and scholars. Chaim Nachman Bialik, Hebrew poet, told the gathering that the publication of the dictionary will bring about a closer union between those speaking the Hebrew language and the English Maridatory. Dr. Judah Kaufman, formerly of New York, editor of the Lexicon, which took ten years to compile, told of his work and that of his associates, Messrs. Silkiner and Efros in finding the Hebrew equivalent for the 50,000 words contained in Webster’s Dictionary.
