Guido Manasci, the author of the libretto of the opera “Cavaleria Rusticanna,” well-known Italian Jewish writer, died here at the age of 58.

Manasci was known as a leading authority on Italian literature and art and was an intimate friend of Mascagnie, the composer of the famous opera, of Emile Zola and of Gabriel D’Annunzio.
