Gold bars worth $37,000 disappeared from a plane en route from the United States to Israel during a stopover at Heathrow Airport in London. The bars were on their way to be coined by the Israel Coins and Medals Co, as the “Let My People Go” coin. According to reports, apparently someone who knew of the shipment stole the bars while in the London airport warehouse where they were stored while the plane was refueled and cleaned. Lydda Airport police officials said there was no possibility that the bars left London and disappeared at Lydda.
