The grimly effective methods of Gestapo, Nazi secret police, are being put to use by the German Government in carrying out its officially announced policy of ousting Jews from the economic life of the Reich, it became known today.

Members of the Gestapo, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency ascertained, are visiting Jews who have sold their property to “Aryans” for cash, in order to “ensure that no currency is being smuggled abroad.”

Jews who withdraw more than 1,500 marks from the bank are also reported to the Gestapo, which checks up on the destination of the money.

Although ostensibly a precaution against smuggling of currency abroad, the Jewish Telegraphic Agency has been authoritatively informed that the measures taken by Gestapo are really for the purpose of preventing Jews from reinvesting their money in German enterprises, possibly under the cloak of “Aryan” names.
