Confirmation of instructions to Ambassador Hans Luther in Washington to protest Magistrate Brodsky’s remarks was received from the Propaganda Ministry.

Meanwhile, Nazi newspapers, notably Dr. Goebbel’s Der Angriff, characterized the decision as “astounding.” Der Angriff intimated that the Bremen incident was prearranged to disturb relations between Germany and the United States.
