The 450th anniversary celebration of the birth of Martin Luther was used by 3,000 Evangelical pastors yesterday as a forum, for protesting against the intensive Aryanization program which is being carried on by the German Christian Church, wing of the Nazi party. Fear was prevalent among the aroused clergymen that their powers would be completely crushed.

The crux of the protests was the demand by Nazi church officials that the Old Testament be discarded and that the conception of Jesus as a gentle god be discarded for one picturing him as a militant. The protesting pastors denounced the barring of Christians of Jewish descent from the church.
