and Bronx members of the League who are in sympathy with the secession have been summoned.
Tomorrow night the Schnuch faction will hold a membership meeting in the same building, with Fritz Gissibl Middle West district leader and Louis Zahne speaking.
At the same time Joseph Schuster, chieftain of the Brooklyn Friends who has maintained his loyalty to Schnuch, will speak on “The Revolution of the Traitors of New York” at a mass rally in Schwaben Halle, Brooklyn.
ZAHNE NAMED N. Y. CHIEF
Schnuch yesterday named Zahne acting League leader and regional group head of New York to replace the rebellious Haegele.
Rather pathetic was Schnuch’s claim that the Ordnungsdienst (American counterparts of Hitler’s storm troops) are “already in part” returning to his camp, and that “in Yorkville, too, there already is strong sentiment against the separatists, especially among business men and individuals with foresight.”
He listed the following regional groups as remaining loyal to the national leadership which he purports to represent:
Brooklyn, Astoria, Hudson, Passaic and Bergen Counties in New Jersey, Newark, Staten Island, Nassau County, Bay Ridge Yonkers, White Plains, Poughkeepsie and Philadelphia.
