Maj. Gen Julius Klein, national commander of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States during 1947-48, resigned today from the JWV, relinquishing a membership of 25 years and all titles and privileges in the JWB.
In a statement explaining his action, Gen. Klein said he had resigned so as to sever his name from that of the organization to which it had been linked by columnist Drew Pearson who has been attacking the General’s views on the return by the United States of property once owned by German firms and seized by the U.S.during the war.
