Gen. Jose Berdichewsky, a Chilean Jew, will serve as acting commander in chief of the Chilean Air Force and member of the ruling military junta during the absence abroad of Air Force Commander Gen. Gustavo Leigh, it was announced here. Berdichewsky is the second in command of the Air Force. He was recently honored at a dinner held by leaders of the Jewish community.
