The American Jewish Congress, in a communication addressed to the Chairman of the National Republican Committee, yesterday took issue with the latter for the elevation of Congressman Louis T. McFadden in the leadership of the party in the light of his record of anti-Semitism.
The communication, signed by former Congressman Nathan D. Perlman, vice-president of the American Jewish Congress, reinforces the stand of the Philadelphia Council of the American Jewish Congress in this connection and asks the Republican National Committee to disassociate itself from any endorsement of the views of Congressman McFadden in relation to the Jews.
The entire matter arose in connection with a scheduled radio address next Tuesday by Congressman McFadden which has been arranged by the National Republican Committee and with which the Philadelphia Congress Council took issue because of McFadden’s anti-Semitic record and his revival of the forgery known by the name of “the Protocol of the Elders of Zion,” which he had reprinted in the Congressional Record.
