Further details of the deciphered Sinai tablets were given today by Prof. Hubert Grimme of Munster University to the correspondent of the J.T.A.

The writing on the tablets, the Professor says, is done in the manner of the Egyptian hieroglphyics, but the type of script is different. The alphabet consists of 22 signs and was probably used as a secret writing by the Hebrews, incomprehensible to the Egyptians. An inscription on a portion of one of the tablets reads; “I am Hyatshepshu Hnem Jamon, head of the Temple of Hau on Sinai.” A portion of the second tablet has the following inscription: “This has been inscribed by Byaste Moshe.” Prof. Grimme states that the inscription mentioning Hyatshepshu is in accordance with the Egyptian historical records of 1480 B.C. when Pharoah Hyatshepshu died. Prof. Grimme also believes that Byaste Moshe means Moses with an Egyptian prefix.
