Wilhelm Blum, former Gestapo chief in Radom who was found guilty of murdering thousands of Jews in that city during the Nazi regime, has been hanged following a war crimes court sentence of death, it was announced here today. He was sentenced on the fifth anniversary of the liquidation of the Radom Jewish community. Approximately 28,000 Radom Jews were massacred by the Nazis.
The Radom war crimes court also imposed the death sentence on Martin Schramm, head of the notorious Lipova section in the Lublin death camp, who was responsible for the execution of thousands of Jewish inmates in the camp, among whom were 2,000 Polish Jewish war prisoners.
Meanwhile, more than 30,000 German documents–including 100 thick volumes and 300 Nazi films–have been prepared for the forthcoming war crimes trial of Dr. Jozef Buehler, former police chief in the German occupation government of Poland and one of Gen von Frank’s closest aides.
