Five U.S. senators announced Tuesday that they had introduced a resolution condemning Palestinian efforts to revive the United Nations partition plan of 1947, which called for Jewish and Arab states and for Jerusalem to be an international city. The senators condemned the Palestinian Authority for attempting to circumvent the peace process and called for any final peace agreement to be determined through direct negotiations with Israel.
