Action by the F.B.I. is awaited here this week following a request by Rep. William A. Barrett, of Pennsylvania, that the agency investigate the fire-bombing of a Philadelphia synagogue to determine the source of reported “Hitler Youth” activities.

Rep. Barrett told F.B.I. director J. Edgar Hoover that the latest incidents were “similar to the anti-Semitic activities of the Nazi Bundists.” He urged the F.B.I. to make a thorough investigation, in conjunction with the Philadelphia police, “to eradicate the source of the activities before these acts of antagonization and aggression against minority religious and racial groups spread to the other sections of Pennsylvania and elsewhere in the nation.”

Hitler’s ideas “apparently are still alive” in Philadelphia according to material inserted in the Congressional Record by Rep. William J. Green. Jr., of Pennsylvania, in connection with the terroristic incidents aimed at Jews in Philadelphia.
