The camp committees at the Poppendorf and Am Stau camps where the Exodus refugees are now living have begun compiling lists of the DP’s and assigning them priorities for moving to new camps at Emden and Wilhelmshaven.
Final arrangements must await the report of a commission, including several Jewish doctors, which went to inspect the new quarters. It is expected that the move will take place sometime next week. Meanwhile, Abraham Trager, chairman of the Jewish Central Committee of Germany, in the U.S. zone, has arrived to visit the DP’s.
Two hundred and ninety Jews yesterday left the Belsen camp as part of the regular group of about 350 which leaves the British zone for Palestine each month. Today, the British authorities at the camp started a census of the residents, something which was last done over a year ago.
