The Haifa Documentation Center on Nazi Crimes charged today that a former SS General who was instrumental in the extermination of European Jewry is now living in West Germany as a merchant and enjoying a general’s pension.
Officials of the Center said they intended to ask West German authorities to bring former Gen, Karl Wolf, now living in Kampfenhausen, to trial. The Center found a copy of a letter signed by Wolf in which he thanked German railroad authorities for their “successful operation in transferring 5,000 Jews daily to Treblinka,” a major Nazi murder camp.
