The Israel Parliament, at an urgent session last night, adopted in its final reading the law granting full equality to women in the Jewish state in legal affairs.
The new law actually legalizes existing practice among the Jews in Israel, ### it revolutionizes the life of the Arab women who hitherto enjoyed very little of the general progress. In an attempt to prevent such a revolution, four Moslem religious judges assembled yesterday in Jerusalem to seek ways and means to influence the Israel Government to withdraw the clause prohibiting polygamy. They decided to pay a special visit to Premier David Ben Gurion, but failed to see him prior to passage of the law in Parliament.
