Eleven persons were killed and seven injured–all members of the same family–when the truck in which they were riding collided today with a train.
The family had been en route to a cemetery for a visit to the graveside of the mother. The route to the cemetery intersects with the railroad track. The driver speeded up to cross the track and beat the oncoming train but the motor of the World War H-vintage truck failed. Its rear wheels were caught by the train.
