Ehud Olmert’s appointment as acting Israeli prime minister was challenged in court. Yossi Fuchs, a lawyer running as a Likud Party parliamentary candidate, filed a High Court petition Wednesday arguing that Olmert’s appointment to temporarily replace ailing Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was illegal.
