Egyptian Flight Captain Helmi Manmoud Abbas who defected to Israel in 1964 was executed today. Capt. Abbas, who flew to Israel and asked sanctuary, later went to Argentina. In Buenos Aires he surrendered to the Egyptian Embassy. He was flown to the U. A. R, and tried in Cairo by a court-martial. He was sentenced to death.
