Edmund Waterman, philanthropist and Jewish community leader, died in Palm Springs, California, this week-end. He was 74. A founder of the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith and of the Joint Defense Appeal, Mr. Waterman served as head of the New York area of the ADL and was a national vice-chairman. He was also active in the institute for Applied Biology and served on government advisory boards during both World Wars.
