Dr. Michael Traub, Palestine Zionist leader and an authority on Jewish migration problems, who arrived in this country several months ago as a special delegate of the Keren Hayesod of Jerusalem, died at Mt. Sinai hospital today after an eight-week illness. He was 55 years old. Funeral services will be held Friday morning.
A graduate of Heidelberg University, Dr. Traub had been an active Zionist and student of Jewish affairs from his youth. In 1934, he became vice-president of the Keren Hayesod and a member of the presidium of the executive committee of the Zionist Federation in Germany. At the World Zionist Congress of 1935 in Lucerns, Switzerland, he was elected to the administrative committee of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, and in 1935 at the Zionist Congress in Zurich became a member of the Zionist Actions Committee.
