Dr. Frederick R. Lachman, executive vice-president of the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, has been appointed executive vice-president of the Encyclopedia Judaica Research Foundation. At the same time he has been elected a member of the Encyclopedia’s editorial committee, it was announced here today.
Dr. Lachman belonged for 23 years to the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, as Research Fellow, member of its Institute of History, its delegate for Latin America and as executive vice-president of the American Friends of the Hebrew University. For some time be was the personal representative in the United States of Israel’s Minister of Culture and Education.
