The fiftieth birthday of Dr. Bernard Kahn, European director of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and well known Jewish communal worker, was celebrated in many Jewish circles in Germany.
Notwithstanding the fact that Dr. Kahn refused to permit his birthday to be the occasion for public celebrations, numerous delegations from the Jewish communities came to offer their congratulations. Hundreds of telegrams and cables from all parts of the world poured into Dr. Kahn’s office, expressing appreciation for his long service in the cause of Jewish relief.
