Senator James Couzens has chosen Dr. Hugo A. Freund, his personal physician and friend, as president of the foundation for the expenditure of a fund of $17,500,000-$10,000,000 principal and $7,500,000 interest for the benefit of Michigan children.

“The idea of limiting operation of the trust to 25 years I first derived from a conversation with Julius Rosenwald, of Chicago,” said Senator Couzens. “Mr. Rosenwald has followed this same course in instituting charities totalling approximately $22,000,000. His thought that particularly appealed to me was that no one is capable of knowing the needs of the future generations and that these generations can be relied upon to provide for their own needs as they may arise.”
