Another promise to modify further the practice of the numerus clausus law in the colleges of Budapest was made by Minister of Education Count Klebelsberg to the Hungarian Jewish Liberal Deputy, Pakots.
Deputy Pakots, who was received by Count Klebelsberg to present to the Minister of Education the unanimous resolution of the Budapest City Council asking for the repeal of the numerus clausus law in so far as the capital is concerned, urged that no discrimination be made on grounds of religion.
The Minister promised to make the law less stringent and to institute an inquiry into the reported abuses against applicants of the Jewish faith. In addition, the Minister stated, the soon to be inaugurated liberal education policy will do away with the numerus clausus question.
