Some 300 delegates representing 25 countries gathered here to participate in the fourth International Congress of Mediterranean Citrus Growers, which opened today. At the same time, a special citrus exhibition opened near here, designed to illustrate all aspects of citrus growing and marketing–including such aspects as essential oils, general citrus products, and equipment and machinery.
Participating countries include Spain, France, Tunisia, Morocco, and Algeria. Importing countries, including the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, Switzerland and Sweden, have sent observers. Also participating are two non-Mediterranean exporting countries New Zealand and Brazil. The British delegation includes an official representative of the Board of Trade.
